BEIJING, May 12 : A milestone in Sino-Pakistani agricultural cooperation was achieved during the 19th International Agri Asia Exhibition and Conference 2026 as Hunan officially launched its agricultural machinery into the Pakistani market with a dedicated launch and debut ceremony in Lahore.
The “Hunan and Pakistan Together Empowering Agriculture with Machinery – Building Pakistan’s Agricultural Modernization: Hunan Agricultural Machinery Pakistan Cooperation Matchmaking Conference and Shuangfeng Agricultural Machinery Lahore Debut Exhibition Ceremony” took place during the three-day exhibition, which was held from May 9 to 11 at the Lahore Expo Centre, CEN reported here on Tuesday.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Pakistan Hunan Chamber of Commerce Liaison Center and Ecommerce Gateway Pakistan, a local trade facilitation platform. The agreement lays the groundwork for establishing communication channels and deepening commercial ties while also ensuring support for the promotion and market entry of Hunan agricultural machinery in Pakistan.
Punjab is currently accelerating its drive for agricultural modernization and has demonstrated an urgent need for small and medium-sized agricultural machinery. Shuangfeng County in Loudi holds a distinct advantage in the agricultural machinery industry. Known as the “Hometown of Rice Mill Machinery in China” and “China’s Agricultural Machinery Hometown,” Shuangfeng produces products known for their strong applicability to local farming conditions. The county produces more than 10 million agricultural machinery units annually, with its products exported to more than 50 countries worldwide.
The initiative aims to create a precise match between China’s high-quality manufacturing capacity and Pakistan’s agricultural needs, acting as a catalyst to accelerate agricultural modernization in Punjab. The event also marked the official entry of Shuangfeng agricultural machinery into Pakistan’s mainstream market, with plans to establish local assembly and after-sales service capabilities. The collaboration builds on previous engagements between Hunan and Punjab, including a visit by a Punjab delegation to Shuangfeng County in October 2025.
