BEIJING, May 16: The Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing on Friday hosted a special investiture ceremony to confer Pakistan Civil Awards on five Chinese nationals in recognition of their outstanding contributions to Pakistan and to the development of China-Pakistan relations.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, represented the President of Pakistan in presenting the honors to the recipients, each of whom has made distinguished contributions in their respective fields in support of Pakistan.

Mr. Wang Yongge, Chairman and Party Secretary of China Zhongyuan Engineering Corporation, was awarded the Hilal-i-Quaid-i-Azam. Since 1996, he has played a key role in advancing China-Pakistan cooperation on the peaceful use of nuclear energy, an important pillar of the longstanding friendship between the two countries.

Mr. Xu Zhaodong, Director of the China-Pakistan Belt and Road Joint Laboratory for Smart Disaster Prevention at Southeast University, received the Sitara-e-Imtiaz. A renowned expert in structural vibration control, earthquake engineering, and multi-hazard smart disaster prevention, Xu has successfully implemented Pakistan’s first seismic isolating project using viscous-elastic damping technology, driving the development of disaster prevention and mitigation in Pakistan.

Mr. Cui Peng, Chief Scientist and founder of the China-Pakistan Earth Science Research Center under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was conferred the Sitara-e-Imtiaz. Professor Cui has built a platform for bilateral cooperation in earth sciences, and organized training workshops for young Pakistani scientists in natural disaster mitigation, climate change, and remote sensing applications.

Mr. Cui Jun, President of China Economic Net, was honored with the Sitara-i-Quaid-i-Azam. He has played an instrumental role in strengthening bilateral ties through extensive coverage of Pakistan, the CPEC, and the evolving partnership between the two countries.

Mr. Qian Feng, director of Research Department and senior research fellow at the National Strategy Institute at Tsinghua University, was awarded the Tamgha-e-Quaid-i-Azam. Through his extensive research and commentary on China-Pakistan relations, he has contributed to deeper mutual understanding between the two peoples.
Pakistan civil awards are among the country’s highest honors, bestowed on individuals for service to the nation and for promoting Pakistan’s relations with other countries. The ceremony highlighted the deep-rooted friendship between China and Pakistan, often described as an “Iron Brotherhood”, and celebrated the enduring contributions of the award recipients to the bilateral partnership.
