BEIJING, Jun 13: China opposes any actions that infringe upon Iran’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, as well as any efforts to escalate tensions and expand conflicts, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson, Lin Jian said on Friday.
In response to a question during his regular briefing about Israel’s attack on multiple targets within Iran early this morning, Lin Jian expressed that China is paying close attention to the Israeli attack on Iran and is deeply concerned about the possible severe consequences of such actions.
China opposes any actions that infringe upon Iran’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity, as well as any actions that exacerbate tensions and widen conflicts, he added.
He said that the sudden escalation of the regional situation does not serve the interests of any party.
China calls on all parties concerned to do more to promote regional peace and stability and to avoid further escalation of tensions.
China is willing to play a constructive role in helping to ease the situation, he added.
