BEIJING, June 9 : China on Tuesday expressed deep concern over escalating tensions in the Gulf and wider Middle East region, emphasizing the urgent need for restraint and diplomatic efforts amid ongoing U.S.-Israel-Iran confrontations.
While commenting on recent developments during his regular press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian highlighted that the three-month-long conflict has caused significant strain across the region.
“Facts have proven that military means provide no solution, and arbitrary use of force will only complicate the issue,” Lin said, stressing that no party should reignite military conflict during this critical phase of Iran-U.S. negotiations.
Lin underlined that the sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity of regional countries must be respected and protected.
He called on all relevant parties to remain calm, exercise restraint, halt confrontational actions that could escalate the situation, and pursue political and diplomatic channels to resolve disputes.
China reaffirmed its commitment to contributing to peace efforts in the Middle East. “China stands ready to act on the spirit of the four propositions of President Xi Jinping, make further efforts for ceasefire and peace, and continue playing a positive role in restoring peace and tranquility to the Middle East and Gulf region at an early date,” Lin stated.
As tensions persist, China’s stance reflects its ongoing emphasis on dialogue and diplomacy, offering both moral and practical support for a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire in the region.
