QINGDAO, June 16 : Chinese Vice President Han Zheng on Monday reaffirmed China’s commitment to high-level opening-up and welcomed greater participation of multinational corporations in the country’s development, urging them to expand investment, deepen industrial cooperation, and strengthen innovation partnerships.

Addressing the opening ceremony of the 7th Qingdao Summit of Multinational Corporation Leaders in Qingdao, east China’s Shandong Province, Han said that President Xi Jinping places great importance on the role of multinational companies in China’s economic development and has repeatedly acknowledged the significant contributions of foreign-funded enterprises to the country’s reform, opening-up and modernization.

Han noted that China’s continued pursuit of high-quality development and high-standard opening-up has made it a key stabilizing force and growth engine for the global economy, while creating vast opportunities for multinational enterprises.

He emphasized that China remains committed to supporting multinational corporations in investing and operating in the country, enabling both sides to achieve mutually beneficial growth and shared prosperity.

The vice president outlined four key areas of cooperation. First, he encouraged multinational companies to tap into China’s vast consumer market by expanding their investment footprint and offering high-quality products and services to meet growing demand.

Second, Han called on global companies to seize opportunities arising from China’s industrial upgrading by deepening industrial cooperation and enhancing global competitiveness together.

Third, he urged multinational enterprises to make full use of China’s innovation resources and collaborate in building a more resilient, dynamic, and competitive innovation ecosystem.

Fourth, Han stressed the importance of promoting openness and international cooperation, expressing hope that multinational corporations would uphold the principles of open markets and collaboration while contributing to the stability of global industrial and supply chains.

He said China has consistently been a builder of an open world economy, a promoter of global development, and an advocate of mutually beneficial cooperation among businesses worldwide.

“China is ready to work hand in hand with multinational corporations to create new opportunities for development,” Han said, adding that the country welcomes continued investment and long-term engagement from global enterprises.

The 7th Qingdao Summit of Multinational Corporation Leaders was held under the theme “Multinational Corporations and China – Working Together for the 15th Five-Year Plan Towards a New Era and a New Future.”
