BEIJING, Sept 27: The China-Pakistan TVET-Industrial Center of Excellence (CPTICE) hosted the Pakistan-China International TVET-Industrial Cooperation and Exchange Seminar in Beijing, marking a new milestone in bilateral collaboration on technical and vocational education. The event brought together senior Pakistani officials and representatives from 11 Chinese vocational institutions spanning nine provinces and autonomous regions.

Minister of State for Education and Professional Training, Ms. Wajiha Qamar, was formally designated as the focal person for industry linkage within CPTICE.

In her keynote address, the minister highlighted the strategic importance of TVET cooperation for Pakistan’s socio-economic growth and youth empowerment. She also reviewed the status of 12 priority projects launched during the Prime Minister’s visit to China, urging their swift implementation in key areas such as electric vehicles, agriculture, and infrastructure.
The seminar witnessed the signing of five MoUs between CPTICE and prominent Chinese institutions, covering sectors including water resources, electric power, intelligent manufacturing, and urban construction. The agreements, signed in the presence of Minister Qamar, represent a major expansion of CPTICE’s collaborative network.
In a special ceremony, all 11 Chinese institutions received membership plaques for the Pakistan-China International Industrial-Academic Integration Alliance (CPIA). Appointment letters were also handed to the first cohort of eight Chinese experts in priority fields such as pharmaceutical engineering, digital construction, automotive, and agricultural engineering. These experts will form a key resource pool under the CPTICE framework.
A significant outcome of the seminar was the launch of a dedicated Teacher Training Platform for Pakistan. This initiative will draw on China’s advanced TVET expertise to support curriculum development, innovative teaching methods, and skills enhancement for Pakistani instructors, thereby strengthening the country’s capacity for independent education development.
The seminar reaffirmed both countries’ shared commitment to deepening TVET cooperation through CPTICE, supporting Pakistan’s aspiration to become a hub of skilled talent and advancing the vision of a closer Pakistan-China community with a shared future.
