BEIJING, July: Imperial Ventures plans to import approximately 50,000 kilograms of mangoes from Pakistan to China this year, generating over US$200,000 in business, according to the company’s Director, Adnan Hafeez.

He shared that the first shipment—over 3,000 kilograms—was already dispatched for display at the Pakistan Pavilion during the Urumqi Expo last month.
The second batch, consisting of around 2,000 kilograms, arrived in China on July 7, while a third shipment of similar quantity reached Kunming just yesterday, he added.

Hafeez highlighted the growing popularity of Pakistani mangoes in China, noting strong demand among Chinese consumers due to their large size, vibrant yellow color, and rich sweetness. These mangoes are primarily sold through online platforms.
Having introduced Pakistani mangoes to the Chinese market in recent years, Hafeez and his team are continuously working to improve product quality, packaging, and storage techniques to boost sales.

He also mentioned efforts to reduce costs, especially given the high expense of air cargo. “We’re focusing on sending unripe mangoes in bulk packaging to cut transportation costs,” he explained.
Chinese consumers have shown a clear preference for South Asian mangoes, particularly those from Pakistan, thanks to their flavor and texture. Hafeez also noted that the deep-rooted China-Pakistan friendship adds an emotional appeal to Pakistani products, including mangoes.
