BEIJING, Mar 9: Central China’s Hubei Province is willing to cooperate with Pakistan in field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and technological innovation, said Ms. Liu Xiaoyan, a representative of the National People’s Congress and Deputy Director of the Center for Biopesticides at the Agricultural Academy of Hubei Province.
Since Pakistan is our neighbor and geographically not far away, cooperation in these fields is very convenient, she told on sidelines of China’s Two Sessions.
She opined that through academic exchanges and talent training, Hubei province can bring its latest technologies to Pakistan. At the same time, Pakistani friends can come to understand the newest technological products and cutting-edge innovations currently being developed in Hubei Province.
Liu Xiaoyan remarked that this cooperation can also expand to the enterprise level. In the future, it will not only involve talent development but also business collaboration. For example, if Pakistan needs technologies in areas such as agriculture or other sectors, Chinese companies can work together in groups to go to Pakistan. They could invest, share new products, promote technologies, or sell equipment and solutions. I believe this kind of cooperation will gradually be implemented and promoted in the future, she added.
She informed that there is quite a lot of cooperation between the two sides in the field of science and technology, talent exchange, education, agriculture and people to people exchange.
Many universities in Hubei have established special programs specifically for Pakistani teachers, experts, scholars, and students. They often come to Hubei for exchange visits. After they arrive, the universities arrange courses according to the needs of the Pakistani participants.
They share Hubei’s most advanced concepts and technologies with them, allowing them to learn, understand, and master these ideas and skills. So, the first area of cooperation is talent cultivation, she added.
Liu Xiaoyan said that in addition, many Pakistani teachers choose to come to Hubei to pursue PhD studies or post-doctoral research, and some even stay to continue their post-doctoral work. So, exchanges like these are very close and frequent.
Last year, at the Hubei Agricultural Expo, I was responsible for introducing exhibits at the event. At that time, a group of Pakistani scholars from Huazhong Agricultural University happened to be there for work exchanges. They visited the expo and were very interested in many of the technological achievements on display, she said.
“I remember very clearly that I personally introduced these technologies to them—explaining what the achievements were and how they might be applied in the future. The Pakistani scholars said they hoped that these kinds of technologies could one day be introduced and promoted in Pakistan,” she added.
The NPC member said that there are also many people-to-people and academic exchanges between teachers and researchers.
In her view, cooperation in scientific and technological innovation between our two countries is very smooth, adding, the newest technologies are quickly shared with our Pakistani friends for communication and learning.
